Set instructions and tasks from the Channel PRO

Providing your guests with clear instructions on how to arrive and leave the accommodation is key to ensuring a smooth experience. From the Channel PRO, you can easily set up these guidelines, both at account level and for each accommodation.


Check-in instructions

Check-in instructions are used to explain to the guest how to access the accommodation. You can choose one of these options:

  • Self check-in with building staff

  • Self check-in with lockbox

  • Self check-in with smart lock

  • Self check-in with keypad

  • Host greets you

  • Other

Guests will receive these instructions 48 hours before their arrival.


How to configure the check-in instructions

  1. Enter the Channel PRO

  2. From the Channels tab, click on Configure under Airbnb

  3. Select Check-in/Check-out

  4. Choose the check-in method and apply a brief description

  5. Click save to apply the check-in method as your default rule

To apply check-in instructions per property:

  1. Enter the 'Activation of accommodations' section

  2. Select the specific property by clicking on the accommodation name

  3. Scroll down to Check-in/Check-out

  4. Click edit

  5. Choose the check-in method and apply a brief description

  6. Click save

Note that only one option can be selected as the check-in method.

When a check-in method has been applied, it is mandatory to add a description. There is no character limit for this text and it only has to be written in one language. Airbnb will translate the message in all other languages.


Check-out tasks

Check-out tasks inform the guest what to do before leaving. You can select as many as you need from the following options:

  • Return keys

  • Turn things off

  • Throw rubbish away

  • Lock up

  • Gather used towels

  • Additional requests

Check-out instructions can be viewed before the booking is made.


How to configure check-out tasks

  1. Enter the Channel PRO

  2. From the Channels tab, click on Configure under Airbnb

  3. Select Check-in/Check-out

  4. Choose the check-out tasks and apply a brief description if you wish

  5. Click save to apply the check-out tasks as your default instructions


​To apply check-in instructions per property:

  1. Enter the 'Activation of accommodations' section

  2. Select the specific property by clicking on the accommodation name

  3. Scroll down to Check-in/Check-out

  4. Click edit

  5. Choose the check-out tasks and apply a brief description if you wish

  6. Click save

You can select as many check-out tasks as you wish. The description is optional but recommended. However, if you choose the additional requests option, a description must be added.

The character limits for the descriptions are:

  • Maximum of 140 characters for default tasks

  • Maximum of 400 characters for 'additional requests'
