Pricing Models
Expedia offers two main pricing models:
1. OBP (Occupancy Based Pricing)
Rates are calculated per additional occupant.
Example:
1 occupant = £100
2 occupants = £130
3 occupants = £160
2. PDP (Per Day Pricing)
Rates are calculated per night, regardless of guest count.
Example:
1 night = £50
2 nights = £100
3 nights = £150
Important!
When connected through the Content API connection via the Channel PRO, rates are sent to Expedia as OBP, even if you configured your rates as per accommodation or with a guest supplement.
When connected through the single rate connection via the Channel v 1.0 rates are sent to Expedia as PDP.
Remember to provide this information to your Expedia Account Manager to complete the integration.
Reservation Types
Expedia processes bookings in two ways:
1. Expedia Collect
Expedia charges the booking at the time of reservation.
Provides a Virtual Card to charge the total amount.
Virtual Cards must be processed within 30 days of guest check-out; expired cards cannot be used.
2. Hotel Collect
Expedia collects guest credit card details and sends them with the booking.
The Property Manager must charge the card manually.
Vacation Package Rates
Expedia can link your Avantio rates with packages that combine accommodation with flights and/or car rentals:
Expedia duplicates your existing rates for the package plans.
Additional discounts can be applied to these package rates by your Expedia Account Manager.
When a booking uses a package rate, the discounted amount is delivered to Avantio VRMS.
Activation
Switch the package rate option in the Channel PRO portal configuration → General Settings.
Note: Package rates are only available for Expedia Collect or Combined business models. Not available for Hotel Collect.
