The Expedia Content API connection allows Avantio clients to synchronize properties, rates, and availability directly through Channel PRO, providing faster updates and improved control compared to the single rate connection (Channel v1.0). This article details the required steps, documentation, and responsibilities to complete the integration.

Note: This connection is different from the single rate connection, which is managed via the Channel v1.0 tab. Make sure to follow the instructions specific to the Content API.

Prerequisites

Before initiating the connection, ensure the following:

  • The client has a signed Expedia group contract.

  • Expedia requires a minimum of 20 units to be published in order to issue a group contract.

  • Complete Expedia's API partner form.

    • Legal and contact details ready, including:

      • Legal entity name and address

      • Name, surname, and email of the signatory

      • Preferred payment method: Expedia Virtual Card or Bank Transfer

Step by step process to enable the portal connection in the Channel PRO:

  1. Sign Group Agreement with Expedia

  • Complete the group contract with Expedia.

  • Ensure all required legal and contact details are included.

  • Submit signed agreement as instructed by Expedia.

Required details for signing:

  • Legal entity details and address

  • Name and email of the person signing the contract

  • Preferred payment method (Virtual Card or Bank Transfer)

  • VAT number – local tax identification number

2. Complete and Submit API Partner Form

  • Complete the API partner form (attached at the end of this article) with all required property and company information.

  • Send the form via email to: [email protected].

  • Confirm receipt with Expedia if needed.

3. Expedia & Avantio Onboarding

  • Expedia creates the financial profile for the Property Manager account.

  • Once complete, Expedia shares the Property Manager Code and invites Avantio and the partner to initiate the API push.

  • Expedia triggers the API onboarding case to Avantio via email.

  • Avantio and the partner receive an email with configuration and setup information (detailed in Step 4).

  • The Property Manager must review and confirm all information is correct.

4. Provide configuration and setup details to Avantio

After submitting the API partner form, the Property Manager must contact Avantio and provide the following details:

  • Property Manager Code: provided by Expedia

  • Business Model: Expedia Collect, Hotel Collect or both (Expedia Traveller Experience)

  • VAT percentage applicable to reservations

  • Cancellation Policy applicable to the properties

  • Package Rates: Yes/No

Once Avantio receives this information, it is forwarded to our technical team to activate Expedia on Channel PRO, enabling property activation by the Property Manager.

Key Points

  • The Content API connection is managed in Channel PRO, not Channel v1.0.

  • A signed group contract and completed API partner form are mandatory.

  • Property Manager must provide business model, PM code, VAT, cancellation policy, and package rates to Avantio.

  • Expedia manages the onboarding and provides API credentials.

  • This connection allows faster and more reliable synchronization compared to the single rate connection.
