Setting up Airbnb house rules
Before booking, your guests need clarity: what they can do at the accommodation, what time to arrive or depart, or if they can bring their pet. That's what house rules are for. Setting them up well not only avoids misunderstandings but also builds trust and helps stays go smoothly and without surprises.
Where do the house rules appear in Airbnb?
House rules are displayed in the 'Things to know' section of the Airbnb listing. From there, the guest will see important information before proceeding to book. This includes:
Check-in: Check-in 'to and from' the specified times configured in the key collection schedule of the VRMS
Check-out: The check-out time configured in the key collection schedule of the VRMS
Pets: Allowed or not, as indicated in the VRMS accommodation page and as an extra service
Smoking: Permitted or not, according to the accommodation configuration in the VRMS
Events: 'No parties or events'
No parties or events can be configured in the VRMS accommodation page by selecting 'parties/events not allowed' from the additional features field.
Additional house rules
In addition to the standard rules, further information will be displayed in the additional rules. These include:
Online check-in requirement: A text is shown if you have an Avantio website and have the check-in online feature activated
Check-in schedule: This includes seasonal conditions with the allowed check-in times as well as permitted check-in and check-out days
Check-out schedule: The check-out time configured in the key collection schedule of the VRMS
Custom Rules: Rules configured in the accommodation page of VRMS e.g. no youth groups, dangerous dogs not allowed etc.
