Collaborate with Other Agencies and Expand Your Accommodation Offerings

Cross Selling is a feature that allows you to expand your web catalog by offering accommodations from other agencies that also work with Avantio. This way, you can increase your offerings without having to directly manage new properties.

How Cross Selling Works

Every cross selling involves two companies with defined roles:

  • Provider: the agency that offers its accommodations.

  • Seller: the agency that publishes the provider's accommodations on its web.

Example

Company A (provider) offers its accommodations to Company B (seller). These accommodations will be displayed on Company B's web.

Cross selling can be bidirectional if both companies agree, meaning Company B can also offer its accommodations to Company A.

Publishing Accommodations

The seller decides which of the provider's accommodations are shown on their web. These are managed from VRMS → Accommodations → Short-term Rentals → Cross selling between companies.

Even though the accommodation belongs to the provider, it will be displayed with the seller's web configuration (design, structure, language, etc.).

Attention to Details

Rates, discounts, supplements, and extras remain as defined by the provider.

Web Configuration

Cross Selling accommodations adopt the web configurations of the selling company, ensuring visual consistency on the page. However, essential conditions like rates, extras, or availability always depend on the provider company.

Price Increase

The seller and the provider can agree on a price increase. This agreement must be communicated to the Avantio team during the cross selling configuration to be applied correctly.

Payment Methods and Conditions

The payment method will depend on the agreement between both companies:

  • Provider collects everything: the payment method, booking conditions, and cancellation policies shown on the seller's web will be those of the provider. The provider will settle the commission with the seller according to the agreed terms.

  • Seller collects the first payment (deposit): the seller's conditions apply for that initial payment. Subsequently, the seller must settle the difference between the amount collected and their commission with the provider.

Managing Bookings

  • Bookings created on the seller's web are recorded directly in the provider's VRMS, not in the seller's.

  • The seller can view all bookings and their settlement status in the Cross Selling Bookings module of the VRMS.

  • The booking confirmation, online check-in, guest area, and subsequent payments are managed by the provider.

Promotional Codes and Cross Selling

  • If you use promotional codes in your VRMS account, they will only apply to your own accommodations.

  • Promotional codes do not apply to the provider's advertisements, only to the seller's accommodations.

Messages and Customer Communication

The first automatic Web Pre-booking message is sent by the seller's VRMS. The seller must include in their Web Pre-booking category templates a note clarifying to the guest that the booking may have been made with another provider and that the next steps, such as payments, online check-in, or access to the guest area, will be managed by the provider company.

Requirements to Activate Cross Selling

  • Both companies must work with Avantio.

  • Both must have an Avantio web page or a web that integrates the Avantio booking system.

  • A cross selling agreement must be signed between the companies and sent to Avantio.

For more information, contact your Web Project Manager (if you are in the process of creating your project) or your Account Manager.

Best Practices

  • Keep signed agreements with partner companies to avoid misunderstandings in payments and commissions.

  • Periodically review your cross selling bookings panel to maintain control.

  • Carefully choose the provider's accommodations that best fit your business strategy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who decides which accommodations are published in a Cross Selling collaboration?

The seller has the freedom to choose which of the provider's accommodations will be displayed on their web page.

Can I apply my promotional codes to Cross Selling accommodations?

No. Promotional codes only apply to your own accommodations and never to the provider's.

In which system are Cross Selling bookings recorded?

Bookings are recorded directly in the provider's VRMS, although the seller can view them in their cross selling bookings panel.

Is it necessary for both companies to use Avantio to activate Cross Selling?

Yes. Both the provider and the seller must work with the Avantio VRMS system and have an Avantio web page or integration with the booking system.
