Each portal uses its own categories, so a property may appear with a different type than the one set in Avantio. In some cases, there is an exact match; in others, the portal uses the closest available category.

Before you start
Avantio offers a set of official property types that are initially available to all Property Managers.
Important: If you need to use a property type that isn't available in your account, you must request its activation by contacting our Customer Experience team.
Important: The property type shown on the portal may be different from the one you've selected in Avantio. This is normal when the portal doesn't have an equivalent category and uses the closest available mapping.
How to read the table
Mappings are classified into three types:
Indicator | Type of mapping | What it means |
🟢 | Perfect mapping | The Avantio type has a direct match with a portal category. |
🔵 | Approximate mapping | The portal doesn't have an exact match, so the closest available category is used. |
🔴 | Not mapped | There is no available match for that property type on the portal. |
When a name appears next to the blue indicator, that's the property type the portal will use.

A particularly important case: House
House has a direct mapping with Airbnb, but this doesn't always mean it's the right configuration.
If you use shared galleries, there is a specific limitation with Airbnb for the House type that affects availability synchronization.

What happens when there is no mapping?
If you see 🔵 Approximate mapping, the property can still sync with the portal. However, the portal will display the category shown in the table, which may be different from the type set in Avantio.
For example:
If a property is set as House in Avantio, it will be sent to Booking.com as Holiday Home using an approximate mapping.
If you see 🔴 Not mapped, there is no available match for that type on that portal.
In these cases, review the property's configuration and select a type that has a compatible mapping with the portal you want to connect to.
What if I need a type that isn't available?
The official types are the ones initially shown to all Property Managers.
If you need an additional type, you must request its activation before you can use it.
Once it's activated, check this table to see how it matches with each portal before using it in your connections.
Expected result
After selecting the type of accommodation in Avantio, the portal will use the corresponding mapping to display the property.
Therefore:
🟢 Perfect mapping: the portal uses an equivalent category.
🔵 Approximate mapping: the portal uses a different but compatible category.
🔴 Not mapped: there is no available match and you need to review the configuration.
The type of accommodation shown on the portal does not have to match the name used in Avantio exactly.
