Review the change history of a booking step by step

The change history gives you complete traceability for each booking, from its creation to any later modifications.

With this feature, you can easily see when a change was made to a booking and whether it was done by a user from your company, a portal (OTA), or an integrated partner, making daily management and issue resolution much easier.

Access the change history in your VRMS

You can view the history in two places in the VRMS:

  1. From the Booking details: click on Actions > View history:

  2. From the Bookings list: click on the booking to open the side menu and then click the history icon (View history), available on both desktop and mobile.

Both options open a side panel with all the information.

How to read the change history information

When you access it, you'll see a panel titled "Change history" with a list of changes sorted from newest to oldest, including:

  • the name of the actor who made the change (company user or system); if it's a user, you'll find a link to their profile.

  • an icon identifying the type of actor;

  • type of action, such as booking creation or edit;

  • date and time in the company's time zone;

Each entry helps you clearly understand the context of every modification.

Understand the default behavior of the history

The system uses automatic logic to make it easier to review:

  • by default, it shows changes from the last month; if there are no changes in the last month, it shows the full history instead.

  • you can load the complete history with the "View all" button; if there are no records, you'll see the message "No results".

This helps you quickly access the most relevant information.

Identify the source of each change in the booking

The system distinguishes between different types of actors to help you see who made each change:

  • user from your company, with their name and a link to their profile;

  • website or booking system, showing the name;

  • portal (OTA) or integrated partner, identified by name or as "External application" if not recognized;

  • Avantio Payments, shown as "APay".

This gives you a clear view of the source of changes at all times.

Important things to keep in mind:

  • All changes are shown using the time zone set for your company. The date format is also adapted for easier reading.

  • The change history doesn't just apply to new bookings. You can also review changes already recorded for existing bookings in the system.
