Step by step

  1. In the VRMS side menu, click Properties.

  2. Select Short Stay.

  3. Open the property file by clicking the Full view button.

  4. Inside the property file, click Edit.

  5. Go to the Extras and services section.

  6. Select the extras you want to display and adjust price, conditions, or visibility.

  7. Choose how the extra should appear in your booking form:

    • displayed as a separate additional charge

    • displayed separately but with the price included in the rental

    • not displayed separately but included in the rental price

  8. Click Save to apply the changes.

If you choose to display the extra on the website, it will remain in Pending activation status until the Customer Support team reviews and validates it.

Limited edits: if the extra is already active and you need to modify the name or description, please contact Support.

VAT: VAT is applied directly to the booking amount. It is not retroactive and cannot be edited from within the reservation.

Extra compatibility

Not all portals accept the same extras or the same charging methods. This may affect visibility or pricing calculations in bookings. Always review the compatibility table before publishing extras.

Security deposit configuration

The security deposit is a refundable extra that must be configured if applicable. It can be defined globally or per property:

  • By default: Properties → Short Stay → Extras → Refundable security deposit.

  • Per property (personalized): from each property file, if you need specific conditions.

You will be able to configure:

  • when the guest must pay the deposit

  • the payment method (for example, credit card)

  • how it is processed: direct charge or temporary hold on the card

If you need more details about this process, please refer to the related article.

Best practices

  • Check the compatibility of the extra with portals before publishing.

  • Remember that a new extra for the website will remain pending activation until validated by Support.

  • Configure seasons based on the stay date, not the booking date.

Configuring and managing extras and services correctly in Avantio helps you optimize processes, adapt conditions to each property, and maintain a well-organized system.

This will allow your team to work more efficiently while ensuring a high-quality experience for your guests.
