Verify Who Manages Payments and Policies on Each Portal and Adjust Your Strategy

Quickly check which portals sync conditions from VRMS, who handles each booking’s payment, and where to configure payment and cancellation policies.

Check VRMS compatibility with each portal

This guide shows, for each portal, who manages the payment (agency, portal, or both), whether booking and cancellation conditions are synchronized from VRMS, and where they are configured. This allows you to quickly verify compatibility between your VRMS rules and each connected channel.

When the agency manages the payment

Portals managed via Channel PRO

  1. Booking.com

      • General policy: selected from this document.

      • Alternative and non-refundable policies: require a special offer, along with any configured discounts and the cancellation policy.

    • Payments:

      • The agency can manage payments by credit card and/or cash via the Booking extranet or directly with the guest.

      • The portal can manage payments through Payments by Booking using three models:

        • Hybrid (VCC)

        • Exclusive (bank transfer)

        • Stripe (only in the USA)

        Note: To access Payments by Booking (PBB), the property must meet Booking’s internal eligibility criteria. It is not available in all countries. New properties go through a review process and, if approved, receive an invitation or see the option in Administration → Payments by Booking (or Online Payments, depending on language and region). It can also be configured under Property → Policies → Payment options for guests.

  2. Housing Anywhere

    • Syncs booking conditions from VRMS: No

    • Syncs cancellation conditions from VRMS: No

    • Configuration: in the portal

    • Payments: the portal charges the first month’s rent and transfers it to the agency 48 hours after the move-in date. The agency manages all subsequent payments.

  3. HomeToGo

    • Syncs booking conditions from VRMS: Yes

    • Syncs cancellation conditions from VRMS: Yes

    • Configuration: in VRMS

    • Payments:

      • The agency can manage payments by credit card.

      • HomeToGo Payments: the portal manages payments by bank transfer.

  4. Holidu

    • Syncs booking conditions from VRMS: Yes

    • Configuration: in VRMS

    • Payments:

      • The agency can manage payments directly.

      • Option to enroll in Holidu Payments (managed by the portal), which accepts bank transfers and card payments. Requires activating the PCI Wallet option in VRMS payment conditions.

Portals managed via the Channel Manager

  1. Expedia

    • Syncs booking conditions from VRMS: No

    • Syncs cancellation conditions from VRMS: No

    • Payments:

      • The agency can manage payment upon guest arrival or collect a deposit (if allowed by contract).

      • Payment may also be managed through a virtual card (VCC) provided by the portal.

  2. Muchosol

    • Syncs booking conditions from VRMS: No

    • Syncs cancellation conditions from VRMS: No

    • Configuration: in the portal

    • Payments: once the booking is confirmed, Muchosol charges the guest and transfers the amount to the agency (minus commission) between the 1st and 5th of the guest’s check-in month.

  3. TravelFactory

    • Syncs booking conditions from VRMS: No

    • Syncs cancellation conditions from VRMS: No

    • Configuration: in the portal

    • Payments: may be managed either by the portal or the agency.

  4. TripAdvisor

    • Syncs booking conditions from VRMS: No

    • Syncs cancellation conditions from VRMS: No

    • Configuration: in the portal

    • Payments: the agency can manage them directly; if the online booking is accepted, the portal can charge the guest and transfer the amount to the agency 24 hours after check-in.

With this guide, you’ll always know which payments your agency manages and which are handled by each portal, as well as where each configuration is made.

This ensures consistency between your VRMS settings and the conditions your guests see across different channels.
