Enable Auto-Scheduling in Harmony Automations to Prevent Task Blockages

This article explains how to enable auto-scheduling in Harmony automations so tasks reactivate when their conditions are met again.

Step-by-step procedure

Step 1: Access the automation/solution configuration

  • Harmony Menu → Automation Configuration

  • Select the automation you want to edit.

Step 2: Enable auto-scheduling in an automation

  • In edit mode, check the box "Resume sending when conditions are met again".

  • Save your changes.

From this point on, the system can automatically reactivate cancelled tasks when their conditions are met again.

How auto-scheduling works for automations/solutions

When you enable this feature, the system follows this flow:

  1. A scheduled task no longer meets the conditions (for example, reservation status, tags, etc.) and is automatically cancelled.

  2. The conditions change and are met again.

  3. The system checks:

    • if auto-scheduling is enabled;

    • if the task is within the allowed time limit.

  4. If everything is correct, the task is automatically rescheduled.

This behavior allows the system to recover on its own, improving automation and reducing manual interventions.

Check the time limits for auto-scheduling

The system only reactivates tasks if it still makes sense to execute them based on the type of automation. This is calculated with a deadline depending on the automation configuration type:

Configured execution time

Auto-scheduling rule applies:

Based on creation date/reservation date

Only before the check-in date

Based on check-in date

Only before the check-out date

Based on check-out date

Only up to 14 days after check-out

When the event occurs (No specific execution time)

No limit. As soon as the condition is met again

Important:
If the conditions are met but the task is outside this time range, it will not be automatically rescheduled.

Frequently asked questions

Why hasn't a task been auto-rescheduled?

This could be due to one of the following reasons:

  • The "Resume sending when conditions are met again" box in the automation/solution is not enabled.

  • The task still does not meet all the conditions.

  • It is outside the allowed time limit.

Are tasks lost if I don't enable auto-scheduling?

Yes, tasks that are automatically cancelled will not be automatically reactivated, even if the conditions are met again. This can affect processes involved in communication with different stakeholders.

Can I manually reschedule tasks?

Yes, you can still use manual methods from the cancelled task itself using the "reactivate event" button.

Is this feature enabled by default?

No, auto-scheduling is disabled by default for each configured automation/solution, to maintain the PM's management autonomy and allow adaptation to their business model.
