Publish your properties on partner portals

Activate your properties on strategic portals and keep their visibility up to date to increase booking opportunities with the help of the Channel Manager.

Written by Lisa

Starting point

Having your properties visible on the right channels is key to increasing their reach and generating more booking opportunities.

From Avantio you can easily manage which properties you want to keep active on the different portals connected through the Channel Manager, as well as decide which ones should appear on your own website.

What will you learn in this article?

You will learn how to activate or deactivate properties on portals that are not managed through Channel PRO, and how to control which properties remain published on your website.

Benefits

  • Manage from a single place which portals you want to publish each property on.

  • Keep your property visibility up to date according to your distribution strategy.

  • Expand booking opportunities by publishing your properties on the channels you consider most suitable.

When should you use this feature?

You should use this feature when you want to activate or deactivate one or more properties on certain portals or modify which properties appear as available on your website.

It can also be useful when you add new properties, start working with new channels, or want to periodically review your distribution strategy.

Before you start

It is worth reviewing in advance:

  • Which properties you want to publish.

  • Which portals you want to keep each property active on.

  • Whether the properties should also be available on your website.

It is also recommended to periodically check which portals you have active and verify that the properties you want to sell are correctly selected.

Follow these steps

To activate or deactivate properties on portals that do not appear in Channel PRO:

  1. In the VRMS, go to Channel PRO → Channel v 1.0.

  2. Locate the portal you want to manage and click ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE PROPERTIES.

  3. Check the box corresponding to the properties you want to activate on that portal. If you want to deactivate one, leave its box unchecked.

  4. Click Save to apply the configuration.

Expected result

Once the configuration is complete, the selected properties will be activated on the corresponding portal according to the saved configuration.

You can later review which properties remain active on each channel and modify this selection whenever needed.

Recommended next steps

After saving the configuration:

  1. Check that the selected properties appear correctly associated with the corresponding portal.

  2. Periodically review the distribution of your properties and adjust which ones are active on each channel according to your business needs.

Limitations and considerations

Please note that:

  • This configuration is used to manage properties on portals that do not appear in Channel PRO.

  • You must always save your changes for the selection to be applied.

  • Publishing a property on your website is managed independently.

  • By default, properties activated in the VRMS are also activated on your booking website.

Before making multiple changes, carefully review which properties you have selected to avoid activating or deactivating the wrong ones.

How to activate/deactivate a property on your website

By default, all properties activated in the VRMS are also activated on your booking website.

If you do not want a property to appear as available on your own booking website:

  1. Go to the top menu WEB.

  2. Enter Activate properties.

  3. Click ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE PROPERTIES.

  4. Select the properties you do not want to keep active on the website.

  5. Save the changes.

Best practices

  • Periodically review which portals you have active.

  • Check that the properties you want to sell are correctly selected.

  • Always save the configuration after making any changes.

  • Afterwards, verify that the property visibility matches the configuration made.

  • Review the publication of your properties on portals and on your website separately.

Practical example

You want to publish a new property on one of the portals connected through Channel Manager, but you do not yet want to distribute it on the rest of the channels.

Go to Channel PRO → Channel v 1.0, open ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE PROPERTIES on the corresponding portal and check only that property. Then save the changes.

This way, you can individually control which properties you distribute on each portal without modifying the configuration of the rest of your properties.

Common errors

  • The property does not appear active on the portal: check that the corresponding box is selected and that you have saved the changes.

  • Changes are not reflected: confirm that the configuration has been saved correctly and review the selection again.

  • A property has been activated on the wrong portal: go back to ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE PROPERTIES and review which properties are checked.

If something is not working

If the feature does not behave as expected, review these points before contacting the customer support team:

  1. Check that the changes have been saved correctly.

  2. Verify that you are managing the correct portal.

  3. Review which properties are selected and which remain unchecked.

  4. Refresh the page and review the result again.

  5. Check the alerts in the Channel Manager — sometimes a property cannot be connected because there are fields missing from its configuration.

If the issue persists, contact our customer support team and include screenshots, the portal name, and the affected properties.
