Start by setting up your first Stop Sell Blocked period in ChannelPro

Before creating the rule, decide which portal you want to block, which dates you want to close, and which accommodations it will apply to. Then create the block and, if needed, copy it to other portals.

Understand what a Stop Sell is and when to use it

A Stop Sell period blocks availability sent to a specific portal for a set period. During those dates, travelers won’t be able to book on that portal.

When it’s useful

  • High season when you want to prioritize bookings on your web.

  • Special events that require maximum availability on your direct channel.

  • Cost strategies to optimize commissions or the guest experience.

Attention to detail
Google doesn’t appear in the list of portals because its bookings are sent directly to your web. You don’t need to apply a block to Google.

Set up a Stop Sell period step by step

Path: Channel PRO → Stop Sell.

  1. Go to the “Stop Sell” section.

  2. Choose the portal where you want to apply the block.

  3. Click “Add” to create a new rule.

  4. Enter the date range for the block. You can add multiple periods.

  5. Select the accommodations affected: all or just some.

  6. Click “Save” and review the summary of blocked periods.

Helpful tip
If you’ve already set up a block on one portal and want to copy it, use “Copy block” to duplicate the date settings to other portals in seconds.

Manage and review your blocks to stay in control

  • Plan blocks with exact dates and review them before saving.

  • Apply the block only to the necessary accommodations so you don’t lose extra visibility.

  • Regularly check the list of blocked periods on each channel.

Common mistakes

  • Choosing the wrong portal and blocking sales where you shouldn’t.

  • Not clicking “Save” after setting the period.

  • Setting inconsistent dates and leaving days uncovered.

Attention to detail
The block of Stop Sell applies to the travel period. If you block September, stays with dates in September can’t be booked on the selected portal.
