Strengthen the authenticity of your messages
Domain validation in Mandrill ensures that emails sent from Avantio are delivered using your agency’s domain.
If you do not complete this validation, emails will be sent from [email protected], and replies from your clients will not reach your inbox.
Mandrill, Mailchimp’s transactional email service, allows you to send automated and personalized emails through an API triggered by user actions, such as password requests or order confirmations.
Key definitions
Mailchimp: an email marketing platform offering various email delivery and campaign management services.
Domain validation: a process that confirms that emails are sent using your domain, ensuring correct delivery and reception.
DNS (Domain Name System): the system where the technical records of your domain are configured.
Why is it important to verify your domain?
Domain validation allows emails sent through Avantio to appear under your own domain. If not validated, the sender will appear as [email protected], preventing customer replies from reaching your inbox.
How to verify your domain in Mandrill
Step 1. Access your domain provider’s DNS area
Log in to the DNS management panel of the provider where your domain is registered.
Step 2. Add three configurations in your domain provider
Create the following DNS records:
Type | Name | Value | TTL |
CNAME | mte1._domainkey.yourdomain.com
| dkim1.mandrillapp.com
| Not important – leave the default value |
CNAME | mte2._domainkey.yourdomain.com
| dkim2.mandrillapp.com
| Not important – leave the default value |
TXT | _dmarc.yourdomain.com
| v=DMARC1; p=none;
| Not important – leave the default value |
Attention to detail
Make sure to replace “yourdomain.com” with your actual domain name.
Some providers automatically append the domain to the end of the record name. If you are unsure, please check with your provider.
Step 3. Contact us
Once the configurations have been added, contact our Support team to inform them that you’re ready to complete the validation.

Copy the entire content of that message (including all links) and forward it to our Support team.
With that information, we’ll be able to validate your domain.
