The Guest Area is much more than an extra feature: it’s a space designed so that travelers have all the relevant information about their stay at hand. If configured properly, it will not only save you time by reducing repetitive questions but also improve your customers’ experience and convey trust from the very beginning.

For this reason, you can create content within the sections “Things to do in the area” and “House rules”, offering both local recommendations and plans to enjoy the surroundings, as well as clear instructions about the accommodation.

This way, you’ll provide added value that your guests will remember.

What content can you manage in the Guest Area?

Once activated in your VRMS, within the module Web → Guest Area, you’ll find two sections:

House rules

  • Easily activate predefined rules such as “No pets allowed,” “No smoking,” or “Respect quiet hours.”

  • Add customized rules for each accommodation, such as “Fireplace usage instructions” or “Access via electronic lock.”

Things to do in the area

  • Create guides with places and activities of interest for your guests.

  • Choose from default places on Google Maps (restaurants, pharmacies, supermarkets) or add custom locations such as beaches, museums, trails, or unique activities.

Pro tip

Combine practical options with memorable experiences to add an extra touch of hospitality.

Create a new guide or rule step by step

  1. Access the list of house rules.

  2. Click “Create.”

  3. Set the title and complete the rest of the sections, for example:

    • House rules

    • Things to do in the area

  4. Select the accommodations to which the rule will apply.

  5. (Optional) Add personalized rules or instructions:

    • Title and description.

    • Photo (JPEG or PNG, maximum 25 MB).

    • YouTube video (Shorts are not supported).

    • Google Maps link for points of interest in the Things to do in the area section.

  6. Save your changes.

  7. View the guide or rule directly in the list without needing to reload the page.

How will travelers see the information in their Guest Area?

Travelers will find:

  • The activated house rules.

  • Custom instructions based on their accommodation.

  • Recommendations in Things to do in the area, with direct links to Google Maps and personalized places.

Best practices

  • Link the same rule to several accommodations when applicable to avoid duplicates.

  • Use attractive yet lightweight photos to optimize the experience.

  • Keep guides updated with fresh, useful local information.

With the Guest Area properly configured and the Things to do in the area and House rules sections completed, your travelers will arrive better informed, enjoy their stay more, and you’ll reduce repetitive inquiries. In short: less friction and more satisfaction.
